Friendly reminder that you do NOT need to vindicate every other character in a story in order to criticise another one. If I say that “character A should not have killed character B’s pet kitten”, I do NOT need to justify every single action of character C’s in order to make that statement. It’s not comparative morality, measured only in relation to the other characters’ actions. Immoral characters can be called out in isolation. And no, harassing ask-box-polluter (seriously, once was enough), I am not going to villify Sherlock for you in order to justify my dislike of Mary’s actions or overall personality. Piss off.
