Kade and Surial

"The solstice is coming, ki'ita." Kadras stood at the door of their home, eyes on the moon, on the sky. The mights would become longer now, the days colder. Still, he knew that spring would come -- bring laughter and flowers, colts and fresh honey.

Surial's body pressed against his back, his ki'ita's arms coming around his middle.

Oh, so warm. "My One." The touch made him smile, made the moon shift in the sky.

"Mmm. Come back to bed, Kadras. I know the best way to welcome in the solstice."

Long, slender fingers trailed through his long braids, caressing him. "Do you?"

He could feel Surial's smile against his shoulder. "I do."

He closed the door and left the moon outside for his own light.
