The Little Worm that Could.
I was horrified when I came back in this morning and found a little tree worm crawling in my hair. I flicked him into the sink and ran water, washing him down the drain. A half hour later, as I was doing my hair, I saw him come creeping back up and out of the drain, struggling to get free from the puddle of water he dragged.
After all that work it took for him to get that far, I couldn't just wash him away again. So I let him crawl up on a hairbrush, then took him back outside and dropped him near a tree. I'm sure he'll never forget his adventure but here's to hoping he stays out of my hair.
