California judge faces recall try over rape sentence - CNN.com:

Orange County, California, supervisors begin a campaign to recall a judge for his below-minimum sentence of a man who sodomized his 3-year-old half-sister.

This is an extreme case, but as a society we fail to punish murderers and rapists and pedophiles appropriately, often allowing them to walk the streets again one day, then turn around and pat ourselves on the back for being “enlightened”, when such terrible injustice and disregard for the victims is anything but.
