Kingdom of Lethe: An Excerpt

This is the first of ten excerpts from my short story collection in-the-works. This excerpt is from a futuristic-steampunk themed short story titled Kingdom of Lethe:

“Quite a mysterious feeling, isn’t it?” Anna smiled wistfully. She gazed up at the false moon, the pale pink orb nestled in the center of the starlit ceiling. “Surely it must have some deeply profound meaning.”

Still, Nedra hadn’t forgotten her purpose in coming here. She stood.
