Phillip Coorey: Mckew blames Labor's pain on 'control freaks'

Phillip Coorey, Chief Political Correspondent for the Sydney Morning Herald, writes about some of the comments made by Maxine McKew at the launch of CPD's book More Than Luck: Ideas Australia needs now. Maxine noted that despite some major achievements since the 2007 election, Labor failed to connect with the voters this time round.

"However, these achievements were masked by broader problems. She said voters abandoned Labor because 'we lacked two things, courage and creativity'."
