As my favorite day of the year approaches, I hear that tune in my head. “It’s the most wonderful time of the year…” I’ve been humming it the last few days.
My favorite day of the year is….OPENING DAY OF BASEBALL!
(I’m a purist…There’s no Opening Night in baseball, especially not at Wrigley! Baseball begins in Cincinnati, after their parade.)
It’s been a long winter. (And truthfully, the last season of my favorite team was a long one too. FINE– the last few seasons.) But when the season concludes, I miss it. Terribly. Roger Hornsby said it best “People ask me what I do in winter when there’s no baseball. I’ll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.”
But as Opening Day approaches, anything is possible. ANYTHING! It’s my holiday and no one can take that away from me.
So in honor of my holiday, a gift to ebook readers– All books in The Nathan Miccoli Mystery Series are 99cents for this Opening Week of baseball. (And for those wondering, book four, Gone But Not Together, comes out in May! Cover reveal soon!)
So, get your peanuts and cracker jacks ready and root for your home team.
A R
And for a little levity….
