10 Happy Things
To all who are reading this,
Once more, life has a way of throwing spanners in the works. And to those loyal readers, and those who come on by on a gust of wind from social media, I am sorry. I haven't updated in nearly a month...
But enough of doom and gloom!
It's Easter! As Bunnymund (Hugh Jackman) from the 2012 animated film, Rise of the Guardians, would say:
"Easter is new beginnings. New life. Easter's about hope."

So, I thought it highly appropriate to do a post that was full of life and hope. So without further ado, I give you (in no particular order) a list of 10 Happy Things! And believe me, it was harder than it looked. These are personalised, so of course, your own may be completely different.
1. Books.Anyone who knows me well, knows that I absolutely love books of all shapes, sizes and genres. There's nothing more comforting than losing yourself in the pages of a good story and entering a whole new world.
2. Stationery. As a writer, pretty notebooks and pens are always good gifts. I hoard these, so I have a drawer and a half of unused books. There is always the perfect book for any occasion, and I love treating myself to these sorts of things.
3. Pyjamas.I love pyjamas. They're comfortable, cosy, perfect for lounging in. Lately, I've been buying them from Primark, and I always buy ones to match my personality and favourite fandoms. The other week I got the cutest shorts and tank top set with the Despicable Me Minions on them!
4. Fresh bedding. You know when you have a bath, put those newly bought pyjamas on, and crawl into a bed, made up with clean sheets and duvet covers? Yeah, that.
5. Tea and biscuits.Custard cream biscuits or shortbread, coupled with a cup of tea (one sugar, and milk). That is comfort, right there.
6. Netflix.I've become a real Netflix addict at the moment. I've been binge watching shows, and films on the iPad app. Curling up in bed, watching (or even rewatching) helps you forget all the badness for a while.
7. Pamper sessions.I don't think I'll ever get out of the awkward teenage tomboy look, but grant me small girlie mercies. Like having my hair cut, or coloured. Or having my nails done. I come out of those salons feeling like a million dollars - even in my baggy Infamous: Second Son men's shirt, leggings and Airwalk high tops.
8. Cuddles.A good cuddle does wonders for the soul. Whether it's with your significant other, your pet, your friend, or a member of your family, it doesn't matter. It always leaves you feeling better.
9. Dinner dates/night outs.Sometimes life gets too hectic, and you don't get enough time to properly talk about everything that is happening. Organise time with friends to swap news and gossip over a plate of food or a glass of wine. Or - better yet - start the night off with something to eat, and then have several glasses of -insert beverage of choice here- in several pubs!
10. Education.I love to learn. I really do. That's all there really is to it. Studying is something I genuinely enjoy - the examinations side of it, not so much. I recently applied to go back to university, and what do you know? I've been accepted! Roll on September, where I will be studying for a Foundation Degree in Social Care.
So, those are just a few of my happy things. I would love to hear some of yours! Please feel free to share, or if you blog like me, tag me into those happy posts. The Greek philosopher Aristotle once said, "Happiness depends upon ourselves." So, take heed of his words.

Oh, and Happy Easter one and all.
Yours, with eternal ink,Zoe
