Snow day!

It's snowing! Really, really snowing! The first snow of the season is one of my favorite days of the year. Oh wonderful winter, how I've missed you.

And here's another thing that makes me happy: Topless Robot's list of "The 13 Best Mystery Science Theater 3000 Songs."

I can't argue with the pick for #1.

Or we'll tear your throat out and kick you in the ear..."

Skauthor1 I used to love winter and especially snow, but the older I get, the less I like it. Don & I met in the middle of a snow storm because his mother insisted that he go along with his younger brother - who was my age - to take some of his friends on a sled pulled behind their car. Don still talks about how impressed he was because my footwear was only saddle oxford shoes with thin socks, and I was wearing only a light coat. He thought I was tough, but that was really just all that I had and I would never let on that I was cold or uncomfortable. Today, I dress warmly - wool socks, boots, gloves, snow bib and coat - if I have to go out in the snow! My preference now is to stay indoors with a good book and that is the best way I most enjoy snow today. I also enjoy reading your posts!

Amy H. Sturgis That's such a sweet story about how you and your husband met!

The older I get, the more I dislike summer. I really can't handle being outdoors when it's warmer than, say, 75 degrees. But I'm happy as a clam when it's 40! (I know, I'm a freak! Ha.) So after staying indoors all summer, I'm ready to come out in the autumn and winter. Of course, I do love curling up with a good book and a cup of cocoa, too! That's a perfect way to spend a winter afternoon.

I hope you and yours are doing well and are free of the worst of the winter storms.
