Shell Houston Open DraftKings Picks
This is getting a little strange. People keep winning the Future of Fantasy Golf Tour contests in consecutive weeks. This time it’s esquaredgolf that turns the trick. I guess it’s just like the PGA TOUR and you can ride these DFS managers while they’re in good form!
The full standings are at the bottom, but it’s important to note we have four managers with a pair of wins. The next prize is given away at three wins. Who wants to make the leap?
Hold the phone! Before we get to lineups this week, lets make sure you check out this week’s FREE contest. This is a great warmup for Augusta National next week. Draft Today!.
Form Fitting
Daniel Berger ($7,500) … 85th-13th-72nd-2nd-10th-24th-10th
Matt Jones ($8,700) … 26th-3rd-14th-7th-59th
Nick Watney ($7,100) … 53rd=41st-22nd-2nd-7th-94th
J.B. Holmes ($9,300) … 71st-2nd-22nd-10th-2nd
Jason Kokrak ($8,800) … 11th-6th-7th-86th-41st
Brendan Steele ($8,800) … 8th-35th-11th-14th-45th-26th
This is a balanced approach to recent form but Jordan Spieth is someone you could stick at the top of this squad if you want to go more stars & scrubs with it. Others in good form over the past few months include: Patrick Reed, Paul Casey, Ryan Moore, Kyle Reifers, Carlos Ortiz, Zac Blair, Charles Howell III, and Sergio.
Course Horse-tory
Phil Mickelson ($9,500) … 12th-16th-4th-1st-35th-134th-23rd
Lee Westwood ($9,200) … 17th-10th-21st-30th-8th-11th
Cameron Tringale ($7,300) … 4th-16th-8th-73rd
Ben Crane ($5,000) … 43rd-4th-29th-24th-25th-80th-20th
Louis Oosthuizen ($6,500) … 78th-10th-3rd-16th-114th
Hunter Mahan ($8,100) … 31st-78th-1st-8th-81st-6th-93rd
This course history team gets a little risky with Ben Crane as his form is all whacked out currently. If you want to mix and match, consider J.B. Holmes, Keegan Bradley, Charl Schwartzel, Graham DeLaet, Chad Campbell, Carl Pettersson, and/or Brendon de Jonge.
Handpicked Value Plays
Graham Delaet ($7,100) … The Canuck is finally off the radar, which is when I love to invest. GDL possesses some of the best top-10 potential this week but not exactly a safe play with his current form. His course history here is good, as he’s posted just one of 14 rounds over par.
Cameron Tringale ($7,300) … He just keeps making cuts and now he gets another favorable course. Tringy has gained 26.743 strokes over the field at GC of Houston over his last 16 rounds here. Throw out his final round 81 in 2011 and that number becomes +35.8 in his last 15 rounds. Juicy!
Shawn Stefani ($7,700) … Hard to classify him as a “sleeper” this week as the hype continues to build after top 30s in eight of his last 10. Pile on his local knowledge as he’s a Houston boy, look out!
