Happy National Poetry Month! A friend asked me if I would be posting a daily writing prompt for this month as I’ve done previously & I said OK. So here we go.
Most people take the #NaPoWriMo 30/30 writing challenge because they haven’t written in awhile. I think it’s really important to write every day, and also really important to take breaks.
Try beginning your poem today with the sentence “When I wasn’t writing, I was…” what does the end of that look like? Maybe it’s super literal - when you weren’t writing, you were backpacking through Texas. Or maybe it’s less cut and dry - when you weren’t writing, you were dying, shriveling in your room.
Let whatever comes after “when I wasn’t writing” carry you and deliver you unto the first poem of April.
Thanks for reading, you giant sparkle.
