A diary strip from last March, originally published as part of my Cartoonist’s Diary series at The Comics Journal.
I’m heading into Spring Break next week, which means I’m home with both kids and won’t be getting much done in the way of cartooning. This coincides with that all-too-familiar “dry” feeling that comes between every comic, where I’m not sure what to work on next and have trouble getting things going at the drawing table.
Maybe a week away from the computer/drafting table will be good for getting the juices flowing. It often helps.
I’m all for us moving past this Myth of the Heroic Daily-Drawer Cartoonist, the guy who works every day, and amazes us all with his prolific output. I’m all for living a little life in between trying to write about it.
