Fast Draft Day 2: Chapter 2 ish
Today's work was writing Chapter 2 of Invisible Sun. It's a fairly talky chapter with lots of characterization and off-handed backstory, so I'm worried about the lack of action. I'll make a note of it in my running diary and revisit it later. The section is also lacking sensory details, which I'll drop into place later. It's important to ground the reader in time and space, but it's easier for me to make a list of places and things that need describing, then do them all at once, than to stop the flow of the narrative.
Side note: Thanks for all the great emails about Black Hole Sun. I'm glad y'all are enjoying the book as much as I enjoyed writing it.
