I know that as a “serious author”, I’m supposed to like writers like Shakespeare and … Proust … in the original French. But you know what, dammit? I read because I want something to be interesting. Edgar Allan Poe and Stephen King? They both freaking HAVE IT. Granted, some of Poe’s stuff is tough to get through. Some of King’s is too, but for different reasons (did you ever read UR? the short? *makes wincing face* A story about a killer Kindle that you read about on a Kindle! Ooooooooooo). *keeps checking “Experimental Settings” page*

And yeah, I like things that are a little scary. Something to keep me on my toes. Something to make me put the book down and shut my eyes like I can even get away from that horrifying mental picture I just read. That why I write about the things that I do. Someone hiding in your living room, or being trapped with someone who may or may not want to kill you, etc. Something that’s going to make you miss your subway stop or stay up well past a reasonable hour. Nobody, but nobody needs to discuss the symbolism behind the sofa color. Nobody needs to read my book in school (unless it’s a palate cleanser from studying. Well, people read Poe in school and still like him). (Catch my new book Awake coming out soon!)

Anyway.

Who the hell came up with these Rap Battles? I only watch the ones where I know who the participants are (because I’m sure I wouldn’t get the inside jokes otherwise). They are hilarious. Go to their Youtube page and plan to spend your next two hours there.
