Aforementioned: Aphorisms and questions for 2015
We should ask questions with the voice of the dandelion to answer with that of the whooper.
This blog is admittedly obscure. I mostly want to point out that all our questions and all our answers are about ourselves. We should try to imagine other species posing and answering questions. The dandelion is, like us, a rapacious survivor, easily occupying available spaces and crowding out other species. The whooping crane is, like the dandelion and us, a marvelous being. The dandelion asks, " How have we been so successful?" The whooping crane answers, "By taking everything for yourself." The terribly tenuous recovery of the whooping crane may be a sign of hope ( a flock of 300 in Wood Buffalo National Park). Has the biosphere started back down the long slow road to recovery?
