Steven Z. Vital is correct and so are your comments, but keep in mind what was occuring in the prewar Middle East, particularly Germany's role and how it affected the Jews. It mirrors Europe and reinforces some of what Vital has to say.

I have not read much on the issues you referenced. I'll have to correct that ... LEW
