As usual with UKL, I had to read this twice and will be thinking about it all day, possibly for a week. It made me think about novelists who portray the "stream of sisters" so well. Isabel Allende came to mind immediately but I know there are others. Harriet Arnow is one. Anyway, it was a fine way to wake up today when I have a writing date with a woman friend this evening.
