According to the Calendar...SPRING is HERE
As I thought about what Spring means to people and how it applies to life, I had to chuckle as it snowed on the first and second day of this hope-filled season. The laughter wasn't because it is snowing when it should be raining. Rather, it's because the transition of emotions between life's happenings and the expectations for each new season offer similar discrepancies and let downs. We see the date for "Spring" on the calendar and expect the snow to stop falling and melt overnight. This is NOT going to happen.
Yes, there will be an abundance of flowers and singing and joy! The deserts will become as green as the mountains of Lebanon, as lovely as Mount Carmel or the plain of Sharon. There the LORD will display his glory, the splendor of our God."
Isaiah 35:2 NLT
When life's struggles overwhelm us, we want to close our eyes at night and wake up with everything healed, accomplished, and over BUT this isn't going to happen either. While tragic events happen quickly, some of our issues have been building for years - so to expect either to go away in less than twenty-four hours is just as silly as winter weather stopping because the calendar says the new season has arrived.
What would happen if we embraced the blah and issues and focused on the new beginning? How would our perspective change?
Would it be easier to fight, hope, and live as we moved forward?
Do we have false or unrealisitic expectations? It's important to remember...Spring is a sign of hope,
rebirth, and new beginnings.
These don't have over night
yet they do happen...Don't give up!
What are you hoping for this Spring?
