I exorcize most every tear
Pretend to be without fear
As sandstone stands against
The sunsets of every age
Every rain drop ever made
A monument to every word
Those things I’ll never say
I sit and I wait, stare ahead
The tracks of an obsolete train
Silver threads never made
If forever demands this of me
A heart in exile, a soul untamed
Then I stand in the way
Assume every stitch of blame
If all I have given be in vain
