My Review of Lilah Suzanne’s “Spice”

hazelandglasz:

I have to admit, when I first heard of the pitch of lilahsuzanne‘s second novel, I was already pretty excited to get the book in my hands already.

But when she asked me if I would like to be an advanced reader, my enthusiasm reached a peak, and I’m over the moon to share my feelings on this book with you guys.

The story fits every romcom that I like to usually watch on screen: light, playful, just enough drama to definitely pull me in the story, and just enough sex to make the pickiest of reader happy.

What sets it apart is that I didn’t try to be all blasé about it like I would be with the usual romcom.

The emotions, the reactions, they’re all too honest to even try to act detached and uncaring, really.

See, some writers can pull you in a book, make you love the characters.

And then some writers, like Lilah, manage to make you feel like you’re a part of the story.

Like you belong in this world of cellulose and ink, like the characters are not just people you’re observing from afar, but people you’re befriending.

Let’s just say that I don’t cheer and gasp and threaten bodily harm for sheer stupidity (only to coo happily when the stupidity flies out the window) for just anybody.

But Simon and Benjie?

They’re not just anybody.

And I can’t thank Lilah enough for introducing me to them.

“Spice” will be launched worldwide on April 2nd (here’s a nifty link to buy it from InterludePress or from Amazon) and I can’t wait for you guys to savor it too!
