Marc Howard David Wood states that he is willing to discuss this with "people that are open to constructive criticism". I truly believe this is the first major hurdle to engagement (similar Zoltan, to the first chaotic and unproductive public debate in your Transhumanist Wager) is deeply ingrained fear which comes in flavors of ignorance, hanging on to old traditions and inflexible religious doctrine.

The question is how can we bring people to the table that are already dead-set against it. Its like asking a devout bible-carrying Christian to "entertain" the possibility and a conversation that there is no God. Before the discussion begins that person's mind is already shut and on the defense.

I don't have an answer but maybe that's why I enjoyed the Transhumanist Code so much. It presented possibilities and action versus wasted conversations with people who will never listen.

There has to be a middle ground though--ideally one without the use of physical force or forcing others to believe in something that they do not want to believe in. I think the good news now that technology has advanced so much that for instance a third-degree burn victim can automatically have his real skin regenerated with a "spray on" protein that you can't even tell the difference from before the burn.

Here's another article that I think help proves the point and is showing the public how and why to embrace the future.

Anyway thanks for sharing Zoltan and looking forward to your next book!

Cheers,
