In Your Head

You ask me to open the door

To show them how it’s done

To teach her what to say and

I reply, something like a war

Sighted enemies face-to-face

One waiting to extend grace

The other, blood thirsty taste

Perpetual division defines the two

A new melody sung from above

Discordant strumming all around

Keeps the battle raging always

Neither believe in happy endings

Nor will they ever agree

Pitting one against the other

Is really the only way
