The Aligned is the third book I have read by author Kristy Berridge. She has become my favorite author ever in the horror category. I am giving it the highest rating possible of 5 stars. I read to be entertained, and this book is as good as it gets. From the opening chapter, it will keep you captivated with its suspense, and Ms. Berridge's ability to keep you wondering what was going to happen next. She does an outstanding job of having you connect with the characters, and will have you on the edge of your seat throughout. I wanted to keep the reading fun going for several days, but that plan failed. It was hard to put this book down.
One of my favorite horror books of all time was the classic, The Shining. It was amazing how author Kristy Berridge was able to utilize a very similar writing method with The Aligned. It offered all of the horror suspense I could possibly want, but also adding just the right doses of lust and comedy in places to make it unique on its own, and just an excellent reading experience. I strongly recommend this book.
