It is with such gravity

and such sublimity with which simple acts

bestow themselves upon mortal musings

Say, for example, a glass of wine’s reason for being

and how the juice of readiness waits in fields of heat

for fingers to scent, and pluck, what the nose discerns

the glass also

and the light colouring the liquid

from a softness of red to a deepness of desire

the feel too

and the anticipation as lips meet the glass

with a softness of touch to a caress of said deepness

likewise, the taste

and the equanimity of tongued pleasure

to a softness of warm to an aftertaste of embered passion

Such simple things illuminate such greatnesses within us

and as such, we dine with the sublime reasonings

of questioned musings of the tastes of life’s simple pleasures
