Space has always fascinated me. It tends to break my brain trying to wrap my head around the concepts of how big it is and black holes or the end of the universe.
Several years ago I joined a group that helped identify galaxies. It aided a scientific research group and I really enjoyed it. Spent several hours each day clicking on whether it was a galaxy or not, a barred one or a spiralled one, how many arms…absolutely fascinating.
But what got me the most where the photos. Space is beautiful.
If given the chance would I go? Yes. In a heartbeat. Did I submit my name for the voyage to Mars? No, I have a family and leaving them and never returning to my home planet would not be something I could mentally deal with. I admire those who have been selected to the final 100 for their courage and sense of adventure.
I'll just satisfy myself with looking up at the stars and dreaming.
