I'm Most Thankful For

Like many of you, I had a less-than-ideal childhood.  I'll tell you something I learned.  You don't have to accept it.  You can't change your childhood, but....You can create your own future..The trick is to find your healing.  Once you do that, your heart will be ready to discover what you love the best.  After that, do those things with all your might and you, too, can live happily ever after. .This Thanksgiving and every Thanksgiving since I met my husband, I am most thankful for my own little family.  I found my healing in the way my husband loves our children and in the way I can love them too.  When my daughter complains she doesn't have her own Wii, it does not annoy me.  It reminds me that she has absolutely no idea how it feels to be cold and hungry.  Then, of course, I tell her to do extra chores to earn the money to buy a Wii herself!

A couple of Thanksgivings ago, my heart held a precious secret my mind was not yet aware of.  I was pregnant.  I had suffered a terrible miscarriage.  I had lost a baby growing in my womb.  I desperately wanted another baby, but I was terrified to even think about it.  I was terrified she would die too.

I found out shortly after Thanksgiving that I was, indeed, pregnant and then I had this song by Mariah Carey to carry me all the way through Christmas!   All I Want For Christmas by Mariah Carey
