I’m not actually opposed to friends with benefits as a concept. I think if two people go into it with eyes wide open and ground rules set and an awareness of both the risks and the inevitable ending (and there needs to be an ending, otherwise: strings!) But a friends with benefits with an ex? Never gonna work. There are already feelings. You’ll never get closure. You’ll be using sex with him as a way to keep from moving on and starting over which sucks, and is hard, but being physically and emotionally tied to someone who treats you like crap despite being dynamite in the sack is much more difficult.

Cut the strings, free yourself and hopefully next time you’ll find someone who treats you right and blows your mind in bed. Win-win!
