On the road on Idle Thoughts

I won't be home when this post goes live. Travelling south to visit my daughter. Taking the new kitten with us, she's too young to stay home alone. I love to travel. My husband puts up with it. Not to sure the kitten is going to be crazy about it.

Here's our route

I love to look at the people we pass on the highway or are using the same travel stops. I get ideas for scenery, characters and I can let my mind wander. On a trip about a year ago, an idea struck and I wrote the opening 3 chapters of a book that I didn't know I was going to write.

Ironically, I thought I was leaving this behind. But the south is in a bit of a deep freeze and there is snow on the ground in NC. Oh well, I was going down to visit my daughter, not lay on the beach and do nothing for hours and hours.
