Speed dating with bookstore owners
Folks;
Just got back from an event in Victoria at the spring BC Book Fair. Got invited to the "Speed Dating" event where authors get to pitch their books to tables of book store owners/sale reps. Lots of fun -- first-class event staged by the Western Book Reps Association. Each author had five minutes to pitch their book at a table of about five reps (five tables in total). I think it went well -- they laughed in all the right places, which is always a good sign. Also got to hold an advance reader copy of Pizza 911 -- for about 20 minutes. They were short a copy at one table so I gave mine up. But in the short period I held it in my hand, I have to say, I grinned like an idiot. All that effort, finally in such a slender tome...
