Update: Bikers who REBOOT wk-2

UPDATE:

Today is day 11 on our Reboot!

What an insightful adventure, things are changing around here!

All three of us are still losing pounds and gaining energy! I've noticed my fingernails are growing faster and look much whiter than before, like a 'French Manicure'. Our eyes are brighter, daily 'aches and pains' have lessened..and some have already disappeared!. Even my hair seems healthier! Although I am not weighing myself, I know I am losing weight. My bra and panties fit differently and the jeans I couldn't zip up two weeks ago, not only fit now, but are comfortable to wear!

Two days ago, I ran into a friend I haven't seen since December, her first response when I walked through the door? ..."Wow...you've lost a lot of weight!" ....and so there it is, sweet validation!

I will admit, the first two days were kinda 'iffy' for me...Nobody really enjoyed the taste of the Green Juice too much. Not that it tastes 'awful' mind you, it just tastes a lot different from what we normally put into our mouths. It takes a minute, give it time. Give your body a chance to show you what you are doing will pay off, in spades!

The first couple of days are the hardest...stay strong!

We went through a day of nausua on day two, and that was the worst day for all of us. On day three I wasn't sure I was going to be able to do this...but I pushed myself through and by day four all of a sudden it seemed natural. From then on, I looked forward to my Juice! By day five we were beginning to feel much better, physically and mentally. Everyday now we walk. We are up to two or three 15-20 minute walks a day now.

I know it sounds strange....but we have not been hungry, at all. In ten days of nothing solid to eat, just Juicing, we have not been hungry! No hunger pains, no feeling like we are starving before our next meal could get here!

Can you imagine? I couldn't, I didn't believe it possible. Now...we'll....I do believe....in Juicing!

This is not a cheap endeavor, fruits and vegetables are expensive, especially in the amounts that it takes to juice. However, if you can shop for sales, sweet talk your produce people and buy in large quantities (by the case) it is very helpful. We have now spent 350.00 for two weeks worth of juicing! No way we can keep that up for two months.....So, this week, we are buying vegetable seeds and will begin some indoor germinating. By the time winter is over, we will have an early start on a vegetable garden and cut the cost out completely!

For the moment, to keep the cost down and to not get 'bored' we have decided to back it down to two juices a day. In the morning we have a vegetable medly Juice (like a homemade V-8) and a Joe Cross Mean Green Juice for lunch. We have decided to incorporate homemade vegetable soup/broth for dinner, and every few days we will have baked fish. We have also added nuts to our regimine, and are discussing rotating the fish with a salad the following week.

Once our garden begins to produce, we will go back to a full Reboot!

We really want to do this for a 60 day regimen. We are not giving up, we are regrouping due to cost. I expect juicing will be a part of our lives from here on out. The health benefits cannot be ignored! We are feeling way too good to quit...all three of us...we just need to 'grow our own' to reach our goal of a 60 day Reboot.

Either way, since we have changed the way we consume our nutrition, it's a win-win no matter how you look at it! Juicing works...and it works fast! I don't ever want to live without it again!
