I am the unpopular opinion. Even though James Franco is a good actor, I can't envision him as Jake Epping.
It's good that this is moving forward, not sure about Franco, though. Guess I'll wait and hope for the best.
I just had an aneurism out of sheer excitement... no wait, I was holding my breath. Those are great news!!!!! :D
I think franco will do fine. I agree with a post I saw on facebook. don't get seth rogen involved. the story is not about drugs and stupidity
Wowsa! H should be good. He can do serious, he can be funny and he can also be very moving. I am already picturing him in the last scene of the book, he can pull that off. So looking forward to this production because I love the book so much.
Excited to see this! Loved the book! I think James Franco is a great actor; he has amazing versatility. Can't wait!

wow getting 112263 made into a movie or mini series is a dream come true for me. i cant wait!!!! hope they do it up right and dont cut it to shreds.

I loved the book and saw Jake/George more along the lines of these type of guys...Tall & not so Franco-y. HA. But I'm sure he'll do fine and not like I have a say anyhow! LOL.

Ugh... guess that's what happens when you sell the rights to a novel. But here's hoping 11/22/63 will be extremely close to the original story line :-)
My favorite Stephen King book! (And that's saying something, I've loved them all.) I'm beyond excited that this will be adapted to film. James will be great!
This was a wonderful book, I hope the movie gets it right, there is so much to it, although I don't have high hopes, and James Franco isn't who I pictured, I was expecting someone older, but there is a good chance he'll do well. 11/22/63 deserves a good page to screen adaptation, so does Stephen King.
Can't wait for this to come out....hope they stay true the book....not like 'Under the Dome'...yikes!
At first I was calling the tv show "Under the Dome" "The Drama Dome" but after last season I came full circle on this show. It's like the show is the book under a microscope. It's quite brilliant actually and really entertaining. Kudos to King and the television writers.
I am pleased with the decision but the casting of 11/22/63 (a book which sits alongside The Stand as an all time King favorites, means little if the script and production are not at least overseen by the Mr. King himself.
If they stay true to the story when making 11/22/63 into a series or movie like they did for the green mile it would be soo amazing. unfortunately King really doesn't seem to care what happens to his work when it goes to film or tv. This story may be my favorite,so I really hope HBO or some other outfit that has the chops to do it right picks it up. As far as James Franco is concerned- playing the lead.. I think he maybe to young and doesnt strike me as right for the part. I cant think of a replacement at the moment.. I suppose im sick of seeing parts go to overly young "A" list pretty -actors. there are tons of worthy actors. It Certainly could have been a far worse choice like Brad Pit or Tom Cruse. In the end It will all-depend on the direction, production comp. and money / effort put into it. Green Mile is the benchmark as far as Im concerned.
