Sometimes I’m wrong. Just flat out missed the mark. It happens.
It’s really easy in failing to think that I’ve screwed up beyond hope, that there’s no point in me trying again. Easy to wonder if other people now look down on you.
Think about it, when you trip or run into something, what’s the first thing you do? Look around to see if anybody saw you? Why? We don’t want to look stupid. We want to look like we have it all together.
But to truly succeed I’ve got to be comfortable with failing, comfortable with being wrong.
Being wrong provides an opportunity to be viewed as human. Yes I was wrong, this is what I can do differently now. We learn from mistakes. We become stronger, and more well rounded.
Admitting we are wrong in a situation allows others to impart their knowledge if we remain open, and lose our defensiveness.
So stay open. Try tons of things. You will mess up more frequently the more you try things, this is okay, it means you are making progress. Stick with it.
