Better known as a painter of cheer and sunlight, Fernando Amorsolo also drew, painted and documented the horrors of World War II. This sketch showing the prisoners of Bataan following a Japanese officer on horseback had a caption in Spanish that says "the horse is more handsome than the rider." If the Japanese had captured Amorsolo's sketchbook this and other drawings may have led to torture or death. Pls share.
