joekeatinge:

Just saw these photos from Isotope’s steinerfrommars + royalboiler signing right after Image Expo. I stopped by for a short bit in between checking old haunts around San Francisco and had a blast, even drew on one of those toilet seats. That was a huge honor for me.

I used to live in San Francisco, from about 2003 until 2010, until I went freelance and headed up north. Early in my tenure there I stopped by Isotope with my buddy Mark, was immediately offered a Sessions beer and felt right at home. In the time since it became a second home, meeting folks like iamdavidbrothers and ronxo when we were all Comic Book Babies long before we all joined the imagecomics family. I met friends I’d have for life there — in fact, I went to the wedding of one of them a couple of years ago.

So, I was really touched when James Sime, proprietor of Isotope, said it was time I draw on one of their toilet seats for their museum. Hence the 2003 - 2015. I’m not a dead twelve-year-old.

Of course, I went super classy, because I am a gentleman.

Anyway, Isotope is a great shop. I miss the store a ton and the community there even more so.

This was a fun signing with rad people.
