Description/Blurb:

Isabella Swan’s move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Isabella’s life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Isabella, the person Edward holds most dear. The lovers find themselves balanced precariously on the point of a knife-between desire and danger.Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite.

My Thoughts:

Twilight

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

After reading The Fault in Our Stars, I wanted a lighter read, so I went to my old standby, Twilight. Then, of course, I realized I have never actually written a formal review of this one, so here I am.

I will admit it, I have always enjoyed the story of this one. It will forever hold a special place in my heart. I had actually done it backwards and had seen the movie before the book, and then found out there was a book, and I went to the bookstore to get it.

Looking at it now, I can see where it could have been edited better, and I can see that the language is rather juvenile, but I still enjoy the story itself. Before picking up Twilight, I hadn’t read a book in quite some time. Now, I had always been an avid reader, but I just had had too much life happens kind of stuff to be able to spend any serious time in a book. Enter Twilight, an I haven’t stopped reading since. So really, the fact that I am writing reviews and reading so many books is all owed to Twilight. Yep, now you know who and what to blame!

I can accept it for what it is, though; a light, fun read that can help me remove myself from the struggles and trials of the life of being a grown up and allow me to enjoy a simple, guilty pleasure for a little while.

I know the book community is strongly divided and you either love or hate Twilight and the entire franchise for the various reasons that many others have hashed out and rehashed ad nauseum, so I am not going to go there.

Have you read Twilight and loved it? Hated it? What book drew you in and made you the reader you are today?
