Egg Timer | Flash for Five Sentence Fiction

The following story was inspired by two places: Ben Y. Faroe’s post about Writing in Bursts, and Lillie McFerrin’s Five Sentence Fiction call to action for the week. This is the beginning of a story I want to lengthen into a novella- or novel-length book, so if you like it, keep an eye out on my blog. I’ll link to this post if I write more (and can think of a title for the larger work.)
