fall back into my arms and disarm
carried away by drolling centuries
returned to me by way of the sea
waking in ecstasy
as you collapse into my chest
scant memories of the fight
and a warrior who needs rest
distracted every dream
of this life and every other lived
the bitter years of your absence
they warn me of our immortality
holding your breath
a sign of the times and out of time
play for me your tireless rhythms
inhale me deeply and sing our song
until you fall back into my arms
disarmed
