ASA mini-series Episode 3: First Date vs First Kiss
ASA Mini-series Episode 3: First Date vs First Kiss
Lacey stepped in front of the mirror looking at herself with a critical eye. She wore a yellow mini skirt with a white tank top. Her long golden brown hair was in a ponytail. She added a little more eye shadow that made her hazel eyes look green. She decided on a red lipstick. Not bad. She didn’t have Bay’s body or Caroline’s exotic looks, but she was at least pretty.
Someone knocking on her door pulled her away from the mirror. She went to answer it. Blayne was standing on the other side. His blond hair was slicked back and his blue eyes sparkled like jewels at her.
“Hi.” She smiled up at him.
“Hi. You look beautiful.” His eyes traveled her body and came back to rest on her lips.
She blushed. “Let me grab my purse.” She walked over to her bed and picked up her purse.
“Where’s Bay and Caroline. I thought all three of you would be together getting ready for this party.”
Lacey laughed. “Actually we were. You just missed them by ten minutes. They went on ahead to the party.”
“Was Bay alone? Was Trevon with her?” He asked with concern. He didn’t like his friend hitting on his sister all the time. Trevon was too mature for Bay. She needed someone more her age and less experienced.
“No, Trevon didn’t come by. She was with Caroline.”
“Good.” He felt an instant relief.
Lacey just shrugged. Bay would date whoever she wanted whether her brother approved or not. But that was something Bay and Blayne would have to deal with. It was times like this she was glad she didn’t have to worry about having her brother at school with her.

He was watching from the darkened corner. Lights were turned down low. The music was loud and blasting hard. Dancers were gyrating on the dance floor. None of that interested him. He was waiting. It seemed like he had always been waiting. Then, she walked in and it was like she brought the sunlight with her.
Rigs watched as Lacey walked over to the refreshment table. Blayne got her a glass of some kind of punch. They were talking and laughing. She seemed happy. Did he have any right to interfere? Then he saw her searching the dance floor and around the room. She was looking for something or someone. He stepped out of the shadows and her eyes locked with his. A lovely blush rose to her cheeks making her eyes stand out even more. Oh yes, he was most definitely going to interfere.
He made his way across the room directly to her. He could not take his eyes off of her lovely face. She was only seventeen but she was already shapely like a full grown woman. She didn’t have curves like Bay or the athletic build like Caroline. But he much preferred Lacey’s gentle curves, sweet smile, and her scent. Her scent was a big draw for him. His species the Gammons had heightened senses. No one smelled as good as Lacey.
Blayne put an arm over Lacey’s shoulder and glared at his friend. “Hey.”
“Hey.” Rigs answered back. His eyes remained on Lacey. “Do you want to dance?”
“She’s with me man.” Blayne looked like he was going to hit something, or someone.
“Is dancing not allowed among friends?” Rigs raised an eyebrow.
Crap! Lacey had never been more uncomfortable in all her life. The way they were both glaring at one another it looked like they were about to fighting. She didn't want that to happen. She had to diffuse the situation. “It’s okay Blayne, one dance with Rigs then you get to dance with me the rest of the time.”
Blayne did not look happy about it, but the knowledge that he would have the rest of the time with her eased some of his tension. “Fine. One dance.” He took her punch from her and sat both punch glasses on the table so that he could keep an eye on Rigs.
Rigs held out his hand for Lacey. She slowly put her hand in his and felt in instant spark run up her arm. This was the first time that Rigs had ever touched her.
He led her out onto the dance floor. There was a fast song playing but Rigs had already talked to the DJ ahead of time. Sometimes it was good to know a lot of people. As soon as the DJ saw Rigs on the dance floor he ended the fast song and put on something a lot slower and rhythmic.
Rigs pulled her into his arms. He kept a small amount of distance between them though he wanted to pull her tight against him. He was trying to show her that he could display restraint.
“Why did you want to dance with me?” Lacey was confused. Rigs had never asked her to dance before at any of the parties their gang had attended in the past.
“I wanted a chance to hold you.”
“You never wanted to before.” She wasn't trusting his sudden interest in her.
“I have always wanted to hold you, be close to you. But I was stupid and allowed a lot of dumb reasons keep me from it.” He admitted leaning down inhaling her delicious scent.
“I’m dating Blayne now.” Her voice was breathy when she said it.
“I know, but that doesn’t mean you can’t date more than one person. I want to be that other person Lacey.”
She shook her head. “I don’t want to come between you guys. You have been good friends for a long time. If I date both of you there will be tension and it could mess up your friendship.”
He danced her further away to a spot with less lighting and fewer people. “You aren’t his girlfriend yet. I have already told him I was going to fight for you.”
He did? Lacey’s heart was pounding so fast she thought it would come out of her chest. He was saying all the things she had always dreamed of him saying. But he was saying them too late. It was too late wasn’t it?
“Rigs.” She didn’t say anything else because he his head bent down and then he kissed her. It was soft and gentle at first, then he pulled her fully against him and deepened the kiss. Wow! So this was kissing? He was good, real good. Then all thoughts left her as she got lost in his kiss.
Rigs was thrilled to finally have the girl of his dreams in his arms. He lifted her up making her feet leave the floor. She dangled there in his arms as he continued to kiss her. He carried her further away from the busy dance floor and out the back door. He had planned this and scouted ahead so he knew where to go. They were outside behind the building in the little alley. It wasn't well lit and it was night time. There was no one there watching them.
Lacey’s eyes were closed and she moaned with a strange need inside. A cool breeze caressed her skin making her shiver. It was a few seconds before she realized they were no longer inside the dorm. She tried to push away but he wouldn’t release her completely. It was a good thing because she was trembling with so much emotion she didn’t think her legs would hold her.
“You can’t kiss me.” She turned her head when he tried to continue. He held her immobile but he wasn’t hurting her. He knew if he released her right then she would run right back inside to Blayne.
“I have waited a long time to kiss you. I don’t plan to stop any time soon.”
“Why now? I am dating Blayne.”
“We both know there is something between us. I have denied it for far too long. But I don’t want to deny it anymore.”
She felt torn. She really cared about Blayne and liked him a lot. But she had always been attracted to Rigs. Kissing him had meant the world to her. It was so much better than all the fantasies that she had had over the years. But could she trust her feelings? What if he suddenly changed his mind and left her for someone more experienced? She didn’t think she could take the heartbreak that was surely to come. She also didn’t want to be the one to break Blayne’s heart. She hadn’t given him a chance really and he deserved a chance. She was just too scared that she would lose herself in Rigs. It was too big a risk. She felt a little irritated too. Rigs paid no attention to her for years then all of a sudden Blayne's in the picture and Rigs has a change of heart.
She shook her head. “What do you expect me to do, stop seeing Blayne because all of a sudden you finally noticed that I exist?”
He caressed her cheek with his fingertips. “I have always noticed you honey. Give me a chance to prove it to you.”
“I won’t hurt Blayne just to satisfy your sudden interest.” She pushed him away and he released her.
“Date both of us. You go on a few dates with Blayne. Go on a few with me. Then decide who you want to be with.”
“I don’t know…” She was so confused. Part of her wanted to say yes but then she felt guilty about Blayne. She was supposed to be dating him.
“Do you want to date him?” Blayne asked from behind them. They had not heard him approach.
She could feel the heat rise to her face. Had Blayne seen her kiss Rigs? She couldn’t see Blayne’s eyes so she didn’t know. This was the most awkward position she had ever been in. She tried to remember what Blayne just asked her.
“Blayne?” She took a step away from Rigs.
“Do you want to date Rigs? Be honest with me.” Blayne asked moving closer to stand in front of her.
“It was something I had always wanted before.” She admitted.
“What about now?”
“I don’t know. It could simply be a crush or it could be something more. I just don’t know.” Her eyes pleaded with him to understand and to not hate her for it.
“Date him then. But I am fighting for you too.” He looked over at Rigs. “And tonight is my date.” He put a hand on the small of her back and walked her back towards the door. Lacey glanced back at Rigs and found him smiling. Why was he looking so pleased with himself? She shook her head and focused on Blayne. He deserved her undivided attention.
Rigs watched Lacey leave with Blayne heading to the back door of the dorm. She may have left with the other guy but she was going to be thinking about him all night. He was about to head back in himself but just as Blayne reached for the door handle, a bright light blinded him and the door to the building exploding outward throwing Blayne and Lacey about ten feet away. He felt something strike his forehead but he didn’t care about that. Lacey wasn’t moving and he felt his heart stop beating for a moment in fear.
“Lacey!”
