Another way to look at it is: why are so many of us sick?

I did mean some offense in my previous post and don’t apologize for it because I believe most people don’t think, but assume, and I’m here to annoy such people.

The accusations of me oversimplifying and painting with broad brush strokes probably have merit. I was just trying to write like my social justice blogger cistern. Imagine if instead of psychology I was talking about the white man, or just the man. That fucker’d have 1,500 notes.

But, honestly, I was just thinking about psychology in existential or philosophical terms. Though I used religious terms and motifs, I did so only because I knew it would be especially offensive and annoying to the liberal, enlightened, all-knowing Tumblr reader. Haha.

Don’t you guys know me yet?

I don’t deny that the efforts of psychology can help some people, but what is being helped? Why are they sick and why are there so many of them?Let’s say even a quarter of the people utilize the services of the profession. Why so many? Doesn’t this say something about us as a society and NOT something about the individuals seeking help?

I believe it is larger than 25%, especially among younger people. I know fairly well a dozen or so people in their early to mid-20s and I can only think of one who is not on pills or in therapy or “behavior management” of some kind.

Is this ok with you? It ain’t with me. Thus my post.

At the very least it’s something to think about and not assume.
