Hmmm....that looks familiar

Ran across this the other day, I couldn't help but thinking I've seen something like it somewhere before...

Then it occurred to me. Oh, yeah.  This is where ;-)

Just thought that was interesting.  The "double crossed" swords symbol also looked remarkably similar to the icon used for Theft of Swords.

Nick Interesting about the meaning of upward pointing vs downward:

That does look uncomfortably similar. If I saw that in the store I would think it was yours until I saw the authors name.

Férial Uh oh..."uncomfortably similar" indeed.

Férial Well, the author voted for The Crown Tower (best Fantasy in the Semifinal Round of the 2013 Goodreads Choice Awards). A fan of yours obviously ;)

Linda Similar, yes. But the artwork in yours is far superior--full of movement and mystery. The "pretender" artwork is static and lifeless. Just my 2 cents, of course. ;-)

SarahBeth Yeah, I'd be grabbing it off the shelf thinking it was one of yours. Now I have to go look at the book :)

Michael Whelan cover art will have me picking up a book I know I don't like, just because I love his artwork.

Riki At least it's not a hooded assassin on the cover.

Interesting...imitation is a form of flattery - I'm glad they liked the design.

Michael Whelan - does indeed have a great following. I loved Way of Kings illustration.

Very true ;-)

SarahBeth And it looks like book 2 in that series should have been out last year and isn't. As much as I hate the wait for your First Empire series, at least I have the comfort of knowing that I will get to read the entire series and not get stuck partway through never knowing how it all ends.
