NaNoWriMo Day 10,11

Between yesterday and today, I finished a first-draft plot for Miseryland (post-apoc).  I played around with a tarot reading to get some ideas on how the climax and resolution should play out.  I'm still fairly vague on several key items, but in general, I have the road map figured out.

Then I returned to Phantom tonight and began plotting it in more detail.  Since Scrivener is really working well for Miseryland, I created a new folder for this project too.  I love the notecards!  LOVE.  I'm almost to the end of Act I for the plotting, but it needs to be tightened.  I want this to fall into the 20-30K range, so I need a small cast of characters.  I'm also shooting for an erotic work, and so far, there's nothing erotic about it.   Will definitely be working on that tomorrow!

Zona *waves* I'm right behind ya at just over 18K. I had to stop reading your story when NaNo came along, but I promise I'll finish them and write the review as soon as I hit 50K! You are on the top of my priority list :)
I love reading your updates though. It's nice to see someone else having the same issues and the same internally lashing :)

Joely Burkhart Way to go, Becca! 18K is awesome!!

Zona I feel a little stagnated right now though. Got any good tips for when your plot bunny takes a nap and you are staring at the screen?

Joely Burkhart Do you possibly have a set of tarot cards? I was stuck on plotting the final act yesterday and in just a few cards, I got inspired to finish the rest of the plot. I sometimes also open a new file and just brain dump about things that MIGHT happen. It's like telling my brain it's okay to be wrong because it's not in the main file, and I'm still making progress. Usually I need to explore a few options before I settle on the right path.

Zona LOL @ Brain dump. I call it Word vomit :)
I have been doing challenges with friends where we see who can write the most in ten or twenty minutes. Last night though I did some editing (yes I know it's bad) and couldn't stop so when I opened the story up to try new... *thud* nothing came. So frustrating!
