would you mind posting an example of your colors without the lineart? I'm curious to see what it looks like, and how you color. Are you layering colors? or is it just one layer?

Sureee.

I have a sooper simple way of coloring where I knock the contrast up to 100 so all the blacks are solid (when I ink stuff, not on the penciled stuff). and then bucket fill a lot of it.

So this has (1) inks on 11 by 17 bristol board. This was a 2 page spread with the 2 pages taped together. I have a small scanner so each page take like 3 or 4 scans and then I piece them together. and then multiply the level with the line art on it and color on the levels below it.

(2) I have a layer for the flat colors  (3) and then the shadows. the shadows on this were 2 layers since I did one for the grey shadows and one for the red lit room.

But yeah, I learned photoshop from Tomer Hanuka on my lunch break from a book store job. I think I still color with the basic ideas he showed me.
