TNT’s ‘The Librarians’ Kind Of Surprised Me

If you’ve seen the three Librarian movies, you know they’re a bit cheesy. Actually, they’re a lot cheesy. And still, I love them. Maybe it’s the humor – though lame at times.

Even though I enjoyed the movies, I just knew TNT was making a HUGE mistake transforming it into a series.

The show had their 2-hour premiere tonight, in case you didn’t know, and having nothing else to do but sit around looking at how sad my room looks right now, wishing The Walking Dead was still on, I tuned in.

I’m not gonna go into detail or give a huge review or anything. But the show surprised me a lot. It was nowhere as cheesy as the movies, and the same characters from the movies were in it. Everything looked the same, and at one point, it had a National Treasure feel, which is one of the only Nicholas Cage films I enjoy.

The Librarians seems like it has a lot of potential to be a pretty good fantasy series out there. The only problem I have is that most of the series, starting next week, is – supposedly – focusing on the new characters rather than those from the movies.

It’s definitely a show I’m gonna give a try. I wasn’t too impressed with the new characters, but perhaps they’ll become likable as we learn more about them.

So this was my Sunday night.
