Looking Ahead to 2015
I've briefly discussed some of my writing plans for 2015 elsewhere, but wanted to take a moment to give y'all a peek at what to expect in the coming year.
The next publication out will, of course, be the fifth and final installment in The New Vampire Series. The tentative release date is 29 December; however, it may be a few days after that before it's actually released. (Two words: Flu season.) I'm slowly working my way through the story as time and energy allow, and promise to have it to you as soon as possible.
My writing schedule next year has six novels on it, four under another pen name (to which I was committed long before I began writing Eric's story) and two under this one, The Vampire's Favorite and The Master Vampire . I hope to release TVF in the first half of 2015 and TMV in the second half, but I'm not putting a firm deadline on their releases until after they're completely written.
There are a couple of really good reasons for this. First, I want to give myself plenty of time to do justice to these stories. While I love the episodic format, having to release them as soon as each one is written is not a good match for my writing style. So, they'll both be written as a complete story, after which I'll decide if I want to release them as novels or in episodes, and that depends entirely on how the stories themselves can best be showcased.
The second reason I'm waiting to assign release dates is so there's no rush on my end. I'm one of those people who hates being late, so when I have to delay an expected release for whatever reason, it really bothers me. Hopefully, I can avoid that next year and y'all will then be able to count on a story being released exactly when I say it will.
For those who are new to the blog, TVF is Jason's story. Chronologically, it takes place between The Vampire's Pet and TNV. The reading order of TVF and TNV is absolutely flexible , so for those of you who are already reading through Gianna's story, you don't have to stop and wait until I release TVF before you can finish out TNV. TMV rounds out the main (planned) series and is told from Eric's point of view.
I'm hesitant to go into details about what happens in each story. There's a fine line between giving hints and giving the story away, but I feel safe sharing that there's a lot of hardship ahead for Eric, Jason, and Gianna and a lot of hope as well.
As for 2016 and beyond, I have no set plans. What I do once TMV is released depends almost entirely on whether or not readers want more. That said, I do have tentative plans for at least two additional stories set within the World of the Vampyr that I've already discussed a little. And, I may do shorter stories to fill in the long gaps between one release and the next. Keep an eye out here and drop me a line if you're interested in hearing more about a particular character.
Peace and happy reading!
