2014... Another one bites the dust.
At the end of every year I sit down to look back at what happened over the previous twelve months. At first I always think I didn’t do anything, but after a few minutes I realize I’ve been pretty busy all year.
I read 85 books 2014. I listened to a lot of new music. And I tried to keep track of the movies I’ve watched. (I’m terrible at keeping track of the movies.)
When I wasn’t at my day job, and I had a few minutes to sit down, I wrote. I did take a two month break from writing after my father’s death. I took a similar break the prior year when my mother passed away. If felt like the respectful thing to do.
I didn’t move this year, thankfully, but I did do a bunch of other stuff. Somewhere along the way my hair turned blue, I went to some Cons, I quit smoking again (hopefully for good), I spent too much money on car repairs, and I published some stuff. Here’s a breakdown:
January
The audio book of Other People’s Shit went live.
February
I published Baby Hater independently as a chapbook.
March
My father passed away.
April
I started taking audio auditions for Baby Hater.I attended KrallCon.
May
The audio book of Baby Hater went live. I attended World Horror.
June
I had a story published in Easy Reading for Difficult Devils: An Anthology of Dark Fiction edited by Zachary T. Owen.
July
I got a year older.
August
I attended the Yellow Springs Book Fair and got rained out.
September
I sold some pre-orders of Hell’s Waiting Room.I started taking audio auditions for Hell’s Waiting Room.
October
I attended a reading in Wisconsin. Hell’s Waiting Room was published through Grindhouse Press.
November
Fred Savage’s autographed photo attended BizarroCon in my place.I sold some pre-orders of Misery and Death and Everything Depressing.
December
My tenth book, Misery and Death and Everything Depressing, was published by Grindhouse Press.
Goals for next year (as long as I accomplish one I’ll be happy):
GET SOMEONE TO NARRATE HELL’S WAITING ROOM AND TURN IT INTO AN AUDIOBOOK BECAUSE I’M TOO LAZY!
Finish writing the horror novel I’m currently working on.
Narrate Misery and Death and Everything Depressing for an audiobook.
Take a vacation.
Now on to the boring stuff...
