Creating Characters by Lacey Wolfe

When creating characters, it’s always important to stop and think about them. Try to know them like a friend of yours—you’re going to be spending a lot of time with them. I always open a separate document (or spreadsheet for a series). The first things I write down are:

Eye color

Hair color

Job

What the conflict is they are bringing to the story

If it’s a series, I then create columns in the spreadsheet such as:

Role in the series

Who they are paired up...
