Miranda Montgomery was in love. In fact, she’d been in love since she was six and he was twelve. Her love had grown, faded, come back in full force, and evolved into what it was now.

Unrequited and painful as hell.

She smoothed her hands down her dress and put on a bright smile. She was late to Austin and Sierra’s engagement party because she’d been doing last-minute brush-ups on her lesson plans for the next day, and now she wished she’d been able to make less of an entrance.

Of the seven siblings, their spouses, their dates, kids, neighbors, and friends, the first person she’d seen had been the one person she dreaded to see at all.

Colleen.

She shouldn’t be pissed that Decker had brought a date to a family event. If Miranda had been dating seriously, she would probably have brought him with her. She’d had that one date last month with one of the most boring men on Earth but that was it. Maybe she needed to start looking past the man she was in love with and find her own life.

Maybe.
