The first post.

Hello!

Okay, I have to admit, the notion of yet another blog is something I dread. I already have a "main" blog, and I also use that to post updates to other sites like Amazon.com, Facebook, and MySpace. I also have a Twitter account. How much of me is too much?

Yeah, about that much.

That said, since this place is devoted solely to books and reading, the notion of having a smaller version of my main blog here, focusing on those topics, appeals to me. So, I'll put it to you: If you're reading this, then I can assume that you're A) Lost, and looking for another, more interesting person somewhere on GoodReads, or B) Here to find out something about me as well as my writing and reading interests. If you're one of the "B" folk, what would you like to see here? Status on current projects? News on upcoming releases? What makes me sit my butt down at my desk after a long day at the office and tending to kids as I try to write the next scene/chapter? How do I get and stay motivated? What do I like to read for fun? Let me hear it, and let's see what happens.

Linda J Owens No, I wasn't lost. I came here looking for you, among many of my other fav authors, but seems you are the only one I found. So that puts me firmly in catagory B. Your list of questions are great. Thats what I want to know. Status on current projects. News on upcoming releases. I'd like to know what makes you sit down and do it... aside from the paycheck, of course. Thats always a great motivator.
Just how is it done? You see, I'm a wanna-be. Can you offer any inspiration to someone that wants nothing more than see my name on a book, somewhere maybe on a shelf near where your book is? Is it a natural talent, or is it something I can learn?
I read escapism for fun. I read your books for fun. Well, along with a few other types of books too, but basically its all the same at the end. I enjoyed the book, it made me laugh or shudder, or at least understand a different perspective.
Thank you for what you do. Even if you had to fuss with kids to get it done, maybe on some level they had some input into what ended up on your page. Give them a hug for me.
Looking forward to your next project.
Linda
