I gave a gift to myself for winning National Novel Writing Month 2014, something a little magical. It’s a #fermonic field detector ring. I have no idea what a fermonic field is but if there’s one nearby I’ll now be able to detect it.
Actually, one explanation is that a fermonic field is generated by iron in blood, and further, that one’s sex can accurately be discerned by the quantity/quality of one’s blood-iron. So, by extension, it can also be determined by a feromonic field detector, such as the ring.
This would be handy if I happened upon some aliens or paranormal beings whose sex is difficult to establish through simple observation. Apparently it is also important to have an accurate feromonic field reading when one is transporting bio-matter such as by teleporting. As everyone knows teleportation devices must be calibrated differently for males and females because of variations in blood-iron between the sexes. So if I end up in a StarTrek episode I’ll be a big help as long as I’m wearing my fermonic field detector ring.
How this will make me a better, more prolific writer I don’t know but who cares? The ring is darn cool.
