What I Want to Be When I Grow Up

I once wanted to be a construction worker, because I wanted to be everything my dad was after my parents’ divorce.


I once wanted to be a babysitter, because I liked babies (in doll form, mostly), and my sitter was an adult, so I figured it was a thing.


I once wanted to be a hairdresser, because I loved playing with beautiful hair.


In middle school, I wanted to become a famous pop singer – not just any shitty unknown singer – because I was in choir and 12 years old, and that’s what we all wanted....
